Staff Attorney – Federal Employment & Civil Rights Law
LRM & Associates, LLC
Alexandria, Virginia | Hybrid / Remote ConsideredLRM & Associates, LLC is seeking a Staff Attorney to join our growing firm dedicated to advancing justice for federal employees and individuals navigating complex civil rights and employment law matters.
Founded and led by LaDonna Reed-Morton, LRM & Associates is a boutique labor consulting firm nationally recognized for its rigorous advocacy in matters before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (mediation and federal arbitration), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and related administrative forums. Our work is principled, strategic, and unapologetically client-centered. We take on cases that matter and we take them seriously.
The Work
The Staff Attorney will play a meaningful role in representing clients in high-stakes matters in federal district court and administrative proceedings involving:
-
Federal-sector EEO complaints (discrimination, retaliation, reasonable accommodation, hostile work environment, constructive discharge)
-
MSPB appeals and mixed cases
-
Discovery, motions practice, and evidentiary development
-
Administrative hearings, arbitrations, and federal litigation support
-
Client counseling and strategic case planning
This is not a document-review position. The Staff Attorney will be actively engaged in litigation strategy, legal analysis, and advocacy, often in matters that require patience, persistence, and creativity in the face of institutional resistance.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an attorney who:
-
Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
-
Is patient, detail-oriented, and thoughtful, particularly when working with clients experiencing stress or trauma
-
Understands that meaningful advocacy often requires long-term commitment and meticulous record-building
-
Is motivated by a genuine desire to advance justice, not just process cases
-
Is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with firm leadership
-
Can navigate administrative and judicial forums with professionalism and confidence
Prior experience in federal employment law, civil rights law, labor law, or administrative litigation is strongly preferred, but we will consider candidates with transferable litigation experience and a demonstrated commitment to this work.
About the Firm Culture
LRM & Associates is led by a practitioner who brings over a decade of experience litigating against federal agencies and institutional defendants – and who believes deeply in ethical advocacy, precision, and accountability. The firm values:
-
Integrity over expediency
-
Preparation over posturing
-
Substance over volume
This position is well-suited for an attorney who wants to grow professionally, sharpen litigation skills, and contribute to work that has real impact.
